Located on the banks of the Missouri River in the Golden Triangle of Central Montana, Fort Benton is one of the oldest communities in Montana. Established in 1846 as an American Fur Company Trading Post, it remains one of the prettiest little communities in the west today.

Lewis & Clark & The Corp of Discovery walked on this same river bank almost two hundred years ago. Or Imagine of the sight of a dozen steamboats docked along the levee and the noise and clamor as their freight is loaded onto oxen trains soon bound for points through out the Northwest.

To cap off the year the local businesses rally together for the Chouteau County Country Christmas, a weekend of festive shopping, food and fun.
